Syllabus:

Session 1: Dracaenas:  Characteristics and Care - 23 minutes plus quiz

  • Taxonomy: how plants are named and their similar characteristics.
  • Botanical structure: monocots vs. dicots, the Dracaenas’ secondary cambium, vascular systems.
  • How the growers grow Dracaenas and how they are shipped into the country.
  • Watering: around the canes or around the entire pot?
  • To trim or not to trim leaves?  Correct trimming techniques when necessary.
  • How Dracaenas sprout back after being cut back correctly.

 

Session 2: Dracaenas: Control, Treatment, Prevention - 15 minutes plus quiz
